Velebit Mountain Winter Adventure

For a long time I have been tempted to return to nature more accurately in the mountains of Velebit, a place that has been part of my life since I was a child and for some time didn't have the opportunity to visit.On the 13th of November, 2017, despite the bad weather I decided to go on with this journey that has been long overdue. I was honored with the company of my good friend Novak who couldn't wait to see something I extolled so much.We were enjoying during the trip, I ,excited to go back there ,and him, awaiting something not yet experienced.Everything was as we planed, we got to the mountaineering shelter with the intent of resting and staying overnight so we could admire this unique place the next day in full glory.We did not have any specific intentions for the next day, but since it snowed whole night long we woke up early and proceed elsewhere.Sadly one wrong turn and the inability to u-turn without entering into the deep snow with my trusty Land Rover led us to exhausting day of effort trying to get it out.Unfortunatly in that process the front right half shaft of my land rover broke so we had to continue our trip on foot,leaving the car with the intent to go back and get it out when the weather calms down.All in all, this is one adventure which I will never forget and would not have changed it even if i could.As far as Land Rover, it came home with his own strength a week later, and now it is in working order ready for the next adventure. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vec dulje vrijeme zudio sam za povratkom u prirodu tocnije u velebit,mjesto koje je od mog djetinjstva bilo dio mene a dugo ga nisam imao prilike posjetiti.Na dan 13.11.2017 usprkos losem vremenu odlucio sam otici na taj put koji je predugo bio odgađan.Bio sam pocascen sa drustvom mog dobrog prijatelja Novaka koji je jedva docekao da vidi ono o cemu sam mu do sada samo mogao pricati.Uzivali smo u putovanju ,ja uzbuden sto se vracam tamo a on iscekujuci nesto jos ne dozivljeno.Sve je bilo uredu,dosli smo do planinarskog sklonista s namjerom da prespavamo i onda u rano jutro nastavimo uzivati u tom posebnom mjestu.Nismo imali neki poseban plan ,ali kako je cijele noci padao snijeg rano smo se probudili te krenuli dalje.Nazalost jedno krivo skretanje i nemogucnost povratka bez ulaska s autom u dubok snijeg dovelo nas do cijelodnevnog izvlacenja auta iz snijega.
