After 6 months of work, we brought this childhood icon back to life. This is the complete restoration. 🔧 RESTORATION STATS: • Condition Found: 70% rust coverage, seized engine, rotted cab • Time: 6 months, 847 hours of work • Original Color: Faded British Racing Green (repainted to Thomas Blue #0073B1) • Biggest Challenge: Completely rebuilding the wheel assembly from seized rust 🎨 WHAT WE RESTORED: ✅ Sandblasted entire body to bare metal ✅ TIG welded 23 rust holes in boiler shell ✅ Rebuilt all 6 driving wheels with new bearings ✅ Hand-painted the iconic face and "#1" markings ✅ Polished all brass nameplates and dome ✅ Restored engine to operational condition This isn't just a train restoration—it's bringing back a beloved character that defined childhoods for millions.
