From Caregiver to Advocate | I Promised My Mom I Would Tell Her Story

In October 2025, the Stanford Health Care Palliative Care team (‪@StanfordHEEP‬ invited me to be part of their breakout session at the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California’s 17th Annual Summit. This session focused on the Palliative Care Storytelling Project I worked on with them a few years ago, where I shared our Alzheimer’s journey and my caregiving experience. Before my mom became nonverbal, she told me she wanted her story to help people. She wanted others to understand, to feel less alone, and to see what this journey truly looks like. This video is part of honoring that promise. I am deeply grateful to the Stanford Palliative Care team for continuing to believe in our story and this mission. Advocacy is not just something I do; it is my calling.
