It’s an 8 minute ride on the modern funicular from Lake Zug to the top of the nearby 1,039m mountain called the Zugerberg. As seen in this video, the town of Zug in the valley can often be foggy in winter, while the berg is above the cloud and affords fine views from the sunny restaurant. A ski tow pulls skiers up the gentle slopes, ideal for beginners. People are seen cross country skiing and just playing in the snow under clear skies. At this height the snow is deep, the tractor needs snow chains, and the snowman will survive for many days.
