Emerging Minds consulted with practitioners and those with lived experience and found families are feeling overwhelmed and unclear about how to support the mental health and wellbeing of their children. With the aim of supporting these families, we developed ‘the PERCS of parenting’, which outline five key areas parents can use to help support their children. The PERCS provide guidance on: parent-child relationship; emotions and behaviours; routines, communication and meaning-making; and support networks.
