Basics: DJI Spark uses communication between itself and the transmitter, allowing the transmitter to pass FPV footage to a smartphone or tablet, just like the other popular DJI models like Mavic and Phantom. Unlike Phantom, which uses technology called Lightbridge (modified wif icommunication allowing the drone to send data over large distances), thw DJI Spark uses boosted wifi transmission which limits the range of transmission. While in the USA most people can reach up to 2 km, in the EU region it may be struggling to get 500 meters. In this video I perform a flight where I completely lose FPV communication at ~2000 meters. In order to achieve that I am using the remote turned into FCC mode. I could have gone further if I was using the OTG cable and was flying in 2.4 ghz. If you are flying in the CE region, you may like the idea of extending the range. You may try the modified DJI Go app, which has not been created by me and I cannot confirm whether it contains spyware or not. Use with caution! And do not enter your real account information!!!! I have used it to switch the TX to US region and uninstalled it. Quick tutorial: 1. Install the modded app. Do NOT enter your original credentials as I don't trust the app. Put random name and it will log you in. 2. Once the drone turned on and connected, go to settings, go to your transmitters serial number, tap on it and enter US as region. 3. Uninstall the modded app 4.
