This is cold crucible arc melting with electromagnetic stirring. This shows melting with and without stirring current. You can clearly see the stirring in action, you can see the melt open up and expose the bottom of the crucible. You can clearly see rigorous stirring as the arc is moved around mixing all the material without the need to flip and remelt like you would see in conventional arc melting. You can also see the pulse stirring agitate the melt when it is operated. This is a great option for advance metal alloying.
