Join me as we go fossil hunting in Florida and uncover GIANT Ice Age Mastodon fossils. This was a short fossil collecting trip, but it made up for it with multiple incredible discoveries including a Mastodon Tooth?? The Mastodon was one of the most unique animals to live during the Ice Age. We occasionally find their bones while fossil hunting in Florida and arrowhead hunting. Fossils like these are incredible reminders of the power the Ice Age Megafauna possessed. Mastodons were so large, their remains are often mistaken as dinosaur bones. But, they are actually a type of extinct proboscidean or ancient elephant that was once common throughout North America and Florida. All fossils collected under Permit issued by the Florida Museum of Natural History.
