It is part of the Total War series, and the third to be set in Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy fictional universe following 2016's Total War: Warhammer and 2017's Total War: Warhammer II). The game was announced on February 3, 2021, and was released on February 17, 2022 Immortal Empires is the title for a campaign that will be added to Total War: Warhammer III on 23 August 2022, The campaign will combine all playable content from all 3 games in the Total War: Warhammer series, so that players can play with all playable races, factions, lords, and units from Total War: Warhammer, Total War: Warhammer II and Total War: Warhammer III. This works similarly to Mortal Empires in Total War: Warhammer II, which combines content from both the first and second games. Sea Lanes s the world map of Immortal Empires is extremely huge, there are several points where Lords and Heroes can be sent. These lead to Sea Lanes, allowing characters to travel between the east and west ends of the map. New dynamic end-game scenarios: randomized mid- to late-game challenges we’re introducing to challenge the late-game to steamroll—where the player is so powerful that there’s a little-to-no challenge left and less of a reason to complete the campaign.
