Almaty Zoo, the oldest zoo in Kazakhstan, was established in 1937 and is located near Central Park, at the foot of Mount Kok-Tobe. It houses over 375 species of animals, including rare species like the saiga antelope, various birds of prey, and three species of bears: the Tien Shan brown bear, Himalayan bear, and polar bear. The zoo also features elephants, zebras, and a diverse collection of primates, such as chimpanzees and gibbons. A popular attraction is the petting area, where visitors can interact with goats, mini pigs, and other small animals. Seasonal events like “Mystery Night at the Zoo” allow guests to explore the nocturnal behavior of animals in a unique setting .
