Coraline's curiosity, zeal, and carefree attitude is so perfectly summed up within the combination of harp and vocals. I love how strangely the original is mixed and presented too - I wondered for years whether the harp is all sampled, and although I know that harpist Helene Breschand did work on the score, and it does often sound like a real person playing, the overall effect of this cue still mystifies me as it doesn't all sound... well, real. The main challenge of arranging this was condensing the parts, as there are several overdubbed parts that run at once in both harp and vocal - in the end I elected to make this a duet for two harps, with two vocal parts! This piece also appealed to me as yet another challenge to play lots of fast harmonics... you may have noticed I really love harmonics. I'll take basically any excuse to play them. Thank you: Ben Turk - Audio-visual director John Hoskison - Camera Op, post-production Julia K - Vocals ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #coraline #exploration #filmscore
