I cleared a large space than usual in my sitting room so that I could move about a bit more and swing a big stick, but neglected to turn off the main ceiling light, which explains the strange warm light that keeps hitting my face. Halberds vary in shape a lot, but a common form involves a long spike on top and an axe blade that is either straight or concave, and facing the user. The way they were shaped must surely reflect how they were used, and I draw some tentative conclusions.
