I used to think that winning in the stock market was only about making massive returns on a handful of trades... The reality is that this is only part of story... In order to make massive returns in those handful of stocks, we need to have the capital to begin with. That means that we must first manage our accounts so that we don't end up giving back returns. We need to play great defense first, that way when the timing is right for those big trades and we find that we have one, we can maximize those returns. This concept is counterintuitive because we never know when a trade is going to turn into a monster-sized trade. We may THINK we know, but the reality is that no one knows.
