Modern Standard Hindi is the standardized variety of the Hindustani language written in the Devanagari script. It is one of the official languages of India, alongside English, and serves as the lingua franca of North India. Hindi is a Sanskritized form of Hindustani, which is primarily based on the Khariboli dialect of Delhi and surrounding areas. It is an official language in nine states and three union territories and an additional official language in three other states. Hindi is also one of the 22 scheduled languages of India. Marathi, an Indo-Aryan language, is spoken across western and central India, as well as parts of southern India. It is the third most spoken language in India and the sixteenth most spoken worldwide, with nearly 100 million speakers. Marathi evolved alongside Konkani from Maharashtri Prakrit, which in turn descended from Sanskrit. Marathi has been influenced by Dravidian languages like Kannada and Telugu, giving it a unique blend of Indo-Aryan and Dravidian elements. Marathi has numerous dialects, including Malvani, a blend of Marathi and Konkani, and Thanjavur Marathi, spoken in Tamil Nadu. Marathi is the official language of Maharashtra and a co-official language in Goa. This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes.
