Subscribe: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Screenrant The Sopranos prequel has arrived, answering all sorts of questions you might have had after the series finale back in 2007. Nothing about what happened to Tony at the end of the series of course, but plenty of other details about his criminal inspiration, Dickie Montesanti, have been answered. His supposed drug addiction? His death in a mysterious hit? These and more are given screen time in HBO’s latest streaming hit. We get plenty of other Easter eggs and nods, including the title itself. Newark of course is Newark, New Jersey, where the film and show are set, duh, but the “Many Saints” part refers not only to the characters themselves but also the name of the main character, Dickie Moltisanti — his surname literally translating to those two words. Well, translating roughly, but whatever. A few rungs down from the mystery of who killed Dickie is the question of Silvio’s hair. Specifically whether or not that sumgun wore a rug or if that whole unnatural monstrosity was the real deal. While I think most of us had it pegged the second we realized it might actually consume the actor’s head like some kinda morbidly obese face hugger, this film puts taht all to bed for good. Jackie Aprile’s predecessor, Old Man DiMeo, aka Uncle Ecoli, appears to make an appearance in Many Saints played by none other than series creator David Chase. He appears in one of the seemingly endless funeral scenes, and Johnny Boy calls him boss just before Junior says “Eckley, how’s the boy?” This marks our first ever look at the character!
