Designing Washington D.C.’s Metro in Subway Builder — Episode 1 - Our First Subway Line

In this first episode of Subway Builder, we begin building a metro network in Washington D.C., starting with the launch of our very first subway line. This series is designed as a calm, slow-paced Let’s Play, suitable for casual viewing or even falling asleep to. Subway Builder is a city-building and transport management game where you design, expand, and optimize underground metro networks in real-world cities. Build efficient subway lines, connect key districts, manage passenger flow, and grow a functional transit system from scratch. In this Let’s Play series, we focus on relaxed gameplay, thoughtful metro design, and a composed live narration. I hope fans of city builders, transport simulation games, and soothing gameplay find this entertaining. Unlike creators who aim to recreate real-world metro systems, this series takes a different approach. I will not look at the actual Washington D.C. metro map until the series is complete (which is painful given that I love metro maps). Instead, we build a fully fictional metro network, optimized for the (most part to the) game’s mechanics. At the end of the series, we’ll do a wrap-up episode comparing our fantasy network side-by-side with the real Washington D.C. metro. If that sounds interesting, consider leaving a like or comment.
