Successful intra-arterial Chemotherapy for Pediatric Retinoblastoma

We talk about a one-year-and-eight-month-old child with a bilateral eye tumor, also known as bilateral retinoblastoma. Since treatments like inoculation or eye drainage lead to complete blindness, we use a method called intravitreal chemotherapy before the surgery. This involves directly injecting chemotherapy drugs through the eye artery into the tumor using a specialized and effective procedure. Today, we perform this procedure on the left eye of the child for the first time at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. The operation is a success, and the chemotherapy has been administered. The baby is doing well, and the team will provide special care and update on the results later.
