Junior Showtime - The Lost 45s “We did a few live demos at the Buzz Room in Dewsbury for the second Lost 45s LP, called 'Secondary Modern'. Dave was recording, mixing and drumming! There was concept behind the L.P. which was to pull together a lot of shared images and experiences a group of kids of our generation would have had growing up where we did and when we did. Me and Nige were emailing each other trying to map it out. We all had a few irons in the fire and 'Junior Showtime' was one of them. The title comes from a kids variety show from way back when... all I remember about it is Jack Wild was on it a few times: he played the Artful Dodger in the musical version of Oliver and I always thought he was fantastic, like a stage Steve Marriott.” “There's lots of different snippets of memories and events in the song but really, in hindsight, I think it's about being a young dreamer who's starting to wake up. I like the middle eight and Mick's Hammond solo is great. Nige came up with the intro and ending as I recall it.” Nick
