The Tipai Leopard - Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary

Use headphones to immerse yourself in the ambience of the time and the place! It was about 7am on the morning of 8th June, 2025 and we were slowly making our way to where we had seen the young male - Teer or Arrowhead - the previous evening when we got word of this leopard lazing in a tree just below the Tipai Mata Mandir. This footage is the time we got to spend with this leopard as it relaxed and moved from branch to branch trying to find a comfortable perch. Leopards climb trees for a variety of reasons, including: resting, finding a safe vantage point for hunting, and protecting their kills from scavengers. They are skilled climbers and can easily scale trees, using their sharp claws and muscular bodies to reach heights.  Leopards are undoubtedly one of nature’s most remarkable predators. Their stealth, strength, and hunting strategies make them fearsome hunters, essential for maintaining the balance of their ecosystems. The enigmatic behavior of tree-climbing adds to their allure, highlighting their adaptability and cunning survival instincts. As we continue to study and appreciate these magnificent big cats, it becomes increasingly clear that leopards are a true testament to the wonders of the natural world.
