Il Centro culturale - Museo del Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio, a Boscoreale (Napoli), è composto da un complesso di edifici: un polo espositivo, un auditorium e un’arena all’aperto. Il polo espositivo ospita il Museo del Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio e un Centro Multimediale, oltre ad un bookshop e alla sede operativa del Reparto Carabinieri Parco di Boscoreale. ENGLISH. The Cultural Center - Museum of the Vesuvius National Park is made up of a complex of buildings: an exhibition center, an auditorium and an outdoor arena. The exhibition center houses the Vesuvius National Park Museum and a Multimedia Center, as well as a bookshop and the headquarters of the Boscoreale Park Carabinieri Department. The Park Museum, consisting of three large rooms connected by two short corridors, is set up with illustrative panels, multimedia equipment, display cases, dioramas, videos and interactive games, according to a common thread that is the description of the Vesuvian soil starting from the rock mother, generated by volcanic events; of the events that generate its transformation into humus, of its link with the plant and animal environment, and with man. Four flower beds are also part of this layout, representing some of the main Vesuvian environmental systems. The Multimedia Center includes four environments, within which a path made of panels and multimedia installations, partly interactive, unfolds, describing some aspects of life and nutrition in the Vesuvius area before 79 AD. The auditorium has a total area of about 1,300 square meters, with an audience capable of accommodating 324 spectators. The Municipality, as part of the setting up of the Multimedia Center, has foreseen in the Auditorium the projection of a film lasting about 25 minutes, entitled "Pompeii Stories in History" in which, against the background of a virtual reconstruction of ancient Pompeii , some characters tell the last moments of life before the eruption of 79 AD Finally, the open arena, located between the auditorium and the exhibition center, can accommodate up to 350 spectators, and is also equipped with a projector and a motorized screen for evening projections. The structure, even if not directly, is connected to the network of the main Vesuvian attractions: Villa Regina and Antiquarium of Boscoreale, the crater of Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum excavations and museum seat of the Vesuvian Observatory, because it summarizes the main aspects of each of these sites.
