This is my first visit to Shinjuku in 2020. I'm walking around both the east and west side of Shinjuku Station, including the main streets, Kabukicho, Omoide Yokocho as well as several iconic shopping areas. It's still very quiet due to the current situation of the world. The number of tourists in Japan is currently down by 99.9% (!) and you can very much feel that when walking the streets in Shinjuku. This area is one of the major hubs in central Tokyo, and usually bustling with life and activity. When I shot this video, the emergency Status due to the ongoing situation had just been lifted. This was shot on a Sunday, and the area was very quiet and a far cry from what it used to be like before. Nevertheless, seeing all some people out and about made me feel a bit hopeful for the future. Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon again. 0:00 Shinjuku Tokyo Metro Station (Near Biqlo) 2:50 Moa 4th Street (Pedestrian only street) 5:10 Yasukuni Dori Crossing (Godzilla crossing & Godzilla Road) 5:35 Entering Kabukicho 歌舞伎町, The biggest Red-Light district in Tokyo 6:50 Toho Cinemas Shinjuku 7:35 Entering Kabukicho Ichibangai 8:50 Iconic Kabukicho Neon Sign 10:20 Tunnel under the JR Train Tracks 11:40 Entering Omoide Yokocho aka "Piss Alley" 15:20 Another Iconic Shinjuku View 17:20 Shinjuku MOA 2nd Ave 18:30 In Front of JR Shinjuku Station 20:30 Bic Camera Shinjuku 21:50 View of JR Shinjuku Station (East Side) 24:10 Nice View of NEWoMan Shinjuku from the Pedestrian Street 29:55 Isetan Crossing Many of my viewers have asked how they can support my work.
