Markiplier Animated - Iron Lung

This video is a stopmotion animation of Markiplier's playthrough of the video game Iron Lung. The video uses an experimental mixed media approach to animation by blending stopmotion and digital animation to create a unique hybrid animation visual style. Featuring detailed handcrafted sets and crammed with fun details and easter eggs, this animation is dark and funny in tone, with a focus on visual gags and humor. Fans of Markiplier, independent animation, and stopmotion animation will love this short film! The animation follows Markiplier as he attempts to find and catalogue various artifacts on the floor of an ocean of blood. As he does this, he finds himself being perused by a massive, mysterious creature, which toys with his ship like a cat playing with a mouse. The video, while mostly fun and comedic in tone, does feature a few tense moments, using sound design and gritty visuals to really capture the feeling of the original game. This took so long, but it was totally worth it! I'm incredibly proud of this animation and I'm very happy to post it. Iron Lung is just such a cool game, and Mark's playthrough was hilarious! Building the set and all the props was a ton of fun! Altogether the project took about 3 months--most of that time went into building everything. The animation process was really challenging but I'm super happy with how it came out! Thanks for watching!
