One of our viewers sent us a photo of the water block of his cooling system. A copper film was factory glued to the waterblock. Over time, the film swelled. After removing the film, it became clear that the film was glued over the nickel-plated base. Removal reduced the temperature by 10 degrees, according to the subscriber. Why did Alphacool do this? Many reviewers were unhappy with the surface quality of what turned out to be a copper sheeting. Many thought that it would be better if Alphacool had a nickel-plated waterblock. But, the waterblock is actually nickel-plated. Why glue the film over it? And why is this not stated anywhere?
