Suze is shown around at Dutch Diamond Technologies in Cuijk. The company is a spin-off from the old diamond industry in Cuijk, where craftsmen spent many years grinding mainly decorative diamonds. In the late 1970s, due to economic circumstances, the switch was made to diamond applications in the high-tech industry. From that moment on, for example, surgical blades for eye operations, tools for the graphic industry, high-pressure stamps for universities and needles for video image plates were made. All these products were made in the traditional way with natural diamonds. In the 1980s, tests were conducted to grow diamonds under laboratory conditions, the so-called lab-grown diamonds. Dutch Diamond Technologies has been around since 2008. They produce spheres, nozzles, cutters and optical products. They work with specially designed lasers, but diamond cutting is still done by hand. The company made a unique diamond ring for their tenth anniversary. Not a ring with a diamond, but a ring of 100 percent diamond. The ring fits well with their slogan: Diamonds, the other way around. The ring is for sale, you can bid from € 250,000.
