BOCA CHITA ISLAND DURING A BAD STORM (FATHER'S DAY 2023)

So we started our day checking the app to make sure that we could go out in the boat without having to deal with choppy water. Although the day looked cloudy, the water was calm. We decided to go to Boca Chita Island for Father's Day and I tested my friend's boat as we have some plans in the near future which involves me handling a center console boat. Upon arrival to the island, we noticed it was full and we had not spaces to dock. Luckily some people that were camped there saw us floating in the center area and offered us help to dock. Soon thereafter we started walking to the little beach area and got attached by hundreds of mosquitos (like always). So we ran back to the boat area and decided to wait until the sun came up. After about 2 hours, we decided to go give it a try again, and got attached once again by mosquitos but we made it inside the water. Once in the water the mosquitos retreat and it wasn't that bad. The current in the water is strong so if you come here with kids, be careful. Anyhow, we enjoyed our day there until it started to thunder and rain so we decided to go back to the boat.
