Erawan Museum and Shrine, topped by the huge 3-headed elephant statue is not an attraction that all tourists get to in Bangkok. The Erawan museum seems far away but it’s not really and it’s very easy to get to on the BTS. There are many elephant statues, ponds and plants. It’s a nice stroll through the park and it provides many photo opportunities. When I visit a place like the Erawan Museum the next stop is always for food. Bangkok is a foodie’s heaven. The options are too many to try to describe. I discovered a place that has great food and its cheap too which is unusual for the area. I’m sure others have found this one also but I don’t think it a place you’ll find just by walking around the area. It’s actually the dining facility for the workers there. It is easy to get to from the Chit Lom BTS station where is there a skybridge that will put you right inside the building. Behind the Central World mall or on the north side, between the mall and the klong is a small park; Pathum Wananurak Park, or as I call it: that little park behind Central World. This is small park with only a walking path, trees, plenty of smaller flower gardens and great views of the skyline. I made a quick visit to Jomtien and Pattaya to check out some condos in the area. I will post a Pattaya video later but here I’ll describe the bus transportation that so many tourists have questions about. If you’re in Bangkok for just a few days and want to take a side trip, Pattaya offers the beach and lots of great dining options, the shopping mall and other attractions. I always want to encourage people to move around a bit when they travel and not restrict their activities to the area around their hotel. The BTS and MRT make it easy to get around Bangkok and the buses make a trip to other cities in Thailand affordable. Get out and take a chance and explore some locations that not everyone has the opportunity to visit and make your visit or vacation a little more adventurous.
