Bunny plants a strip of soil alongside her entrance track/drive. This area was in heavy shade but now has more light as Bunny has thinned out the trees she planted some 40 years ago. Yew and tiny holly plants are planted for the shrub layer to give cover and food for birds while Bunny has lifted other natural looking plants such as violas, hellebores, foxgloves, primroses from elsewhere in the garden to provide a woodland edge of low planting. She has also propagated up lots of sweet woodruff plants. Bulbs will be a keen player in spring before the leaves arrive on the tree’s canopies and Bunny has invested in a few thousand including native bluebells, native daffodils, Snowdrops, winter aconites, Snakeshead fritillarias, wood anemones and crocus. She shows how to plant them and protect them from squirrels and rabbits. For members of Bunny’s gardening club you can purchase bulbs from GeeTee bulbs (www.gee-tee.co.uk) by putting Bunny15 on your order. For large volumes wholesale prices are available. #bulbs #spring
