You Deserve Real Talk— is a new series where we examine cultural moments through the lens of faith, agency, and the real work of collective healing. This week: We’re breaking down Netflix’s documentary “The Reckoning” about Diddy terrorizing the industry—but we’re diving deeper than the headlines and entertainment fodder. We’re asking: How did we celebrate a figure throughout hip-hop and Black culture without questioning his character for so long? What does it say about our collective self-love in society that we uplifted an opulent lifestyle in spite of obvious abuse and mistreatment? And most critically: How do we—as many of us who came of age in the late 90s and 2000s, many of us mothers or trusted aunties now—love, forgive, and grow better for ourselves so we can show up better for the young women in our care? What we’re covering: 🔴 What the documentary reveals about bodily autonomy and complicity 🔴 How faith becomes resistance, not acceptance 🔴 Healing generational trauma and internalized narratives 🔴 The power of community accountability and collective action 🔴 Building a legacy of integrity for the next generation The framework: We’ll introduce the 5 Pillars in The Love Meditations—a faith-centered wellness framework rooted in 1 Corinthians 13:1-8. Love in Motion — Reclaiming our bodies as sacred Anchored in Faith — Faith as an act of resistance Radiant Self-Love — From shame to self-compassion Sacred Community — Sisterhood as accountability Intentional Living & Legacy — Building for 2026 and beyond This is for: Those asking hard questions about agency, representation, complicity, and how we better build for Black women to thrive. For those ready to move through gossip and entertainment to critical analysis and steps towards restoration. For anyone asking: “How do we heal from this information, and what do we do differently?” Whether you join live, or watch the replay in the future, this work is to provide value. Building layered understanding of systemic exploitation, encouraging the personal work of divine self- love and providing actionable practices for real change.
