Henry Segrave's twin-engined 1000hp Sunbeam land speed car, the first to 200mph, is being restored in time for its 100th birthday. S&G visited the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu in May 2024, to see how things are progressing and to take a closer look at the bare bones of this historic piece of machinery. In Part Two, senior engineer Ian "Stan" Stanfield explains the engineering behind the Sunbeam's transmission, designed to transfer almost 1000hp from two giant V12 engines to the rear wheels.
