WS of models WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL CONVENE FOR MAGAZINE LAUNCH New York's Hammerstein Ballroom was the venue for a hoedown of the world's most beautiful women on Tuesday. Scores of media were on hand, as Sports Illustrated magazine unveiled its annual 2002 Swimsuit Issue - a must-buy for American males. In it's 39th year, the issue has become one of the most sought out bookings in the modeling world, helping to launch the careers of Christie Brinkley and Tyra Banks. The issue, titled 'Red Hot in Latin America', showcases beautiful settings throughout Latin America, featuring ranches in Argentina, beach setting in Guatemala, sunny Mexico and exotic Costa Rica and Brazil. Yamila Diaz-Rahi, a native of Buenos Aires in Argentina, took top honours among this year's models. Making her fourth appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, Yamila was selected to grace the cover of the magazine. A veteran of many fashion magazine covers, Yamila feels particularly proud of this issue, as it features her homeland, and showcases many of the positive aspects of Latin culture.
