Cleanup has started in Yarrow, a small community and one of the most affected by recent floods on the border of Abbotsford and Chilliwack in BC, Canada. The neighborhood located in the area of Interprovincial Road and Campbell Road has been submerged under water since November 14th 2021 which is over three weeks ago. Residents were seen starting to clean up but the tasks appear overwhelming. Aerial images filmed today Tuesday December 7th 2021 portray a devastating scene. Fields can be seen covered in mud that has settled now that the water has receded. Putrefied odors in the area composed in the majority of farmlands are a constant reminder of the grim outcome of these floods. Five thousand cows are reported to have died by drowning and are among tens of thousands other livestock that have been lost to the rain water. Shocking witness testimony says that some farm owners had no choice but to let the animals die by drowning instead of other quicker means due to insurance policies. To be covered financially for the losses in this case tells a neighbor, the loss of the "property" had to come from the natural cause of the disaster. Now that roads have reopened, the monumental amount of work needed for residents and farmers to get back on foot is more clear.
