We Spent New Year in Canberra… Here’s How It Actually Went

Spending New Year’s in Canberra didn’t go exactly as planned. After an underwhelming NYE, we decided not to let it ruin the rest of the trip and made the most of our final day in Australia’s capital 🇦🇺 We started the morning with breakfast at Eastrow Café, then explored some of Canberra’s iconic spots including the National Australian Mint and the National Gallery of Australia. To kill time before our 5 PM train, we wandered around the mall, did a bit of shopping, and soaked in the quiet city vibes. When hunger hit around 3:30 PM, almost everything was closed, so we ended up grabbing Subway to eat on the train (not ideal, but real life 😂). To end the trip on a comforting note, we ordered Bhutanese takeaway from Little Bhutan at the station to bring back home because nothing beats familiar food after a long journey.
