After the 10-day storming hearing in court, the high court has now held judgement, saying that the hijab is not an essential religious uniform for Islam. The government has the power to pass orders.  Remember, the Supreme Court witnessed heated arguments from both sides. The lawyers for the petitioners argued that hijab is an essential practise because it is a symbol of modesty. The Karnataka government argued that the right to religion is a fundamental right but it is subject to reasonable restriction. But there is a uniform code for schools.
