The November 2004 Second Battle of Fallujah was the largest urban combat operation since Vietnam and remains the largest in the 20-year Global War on Terror. Four Marine Corps and two Army battalions, along with hundreds of other support elements across all branches and nationalities, labored block by block for over a month to take back control of the heavily contested city in a fight for the very soul of Iraq. This is the story of one company involved in that massive operation, Charlie Company “Warpigs,” 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion.
