#ZimbabweRailways #Zimbabwe #U11B #AfricaRailways DE9A 1915 was a busy little engine sorting wagons in the station yard (2019/07/08). As I waited for an outbound coal train to depart I decided to take some shunt activities going on in the yard. 1915 took a cut of wagons on track 2 & one K-truck on track 1. It spotted these wagons in the station yard (I didn't manage to get these movements). It then took a sizeable cut of empty clinker wagons which are IHN type from the yard. It did a reverse movement to spot them on track 6 which was already occupied by some empty clinker wagons. When the crew finished that task, track 6 had over 45 wagons ready to be picked up by outbound trains to be delivered to Collen Bawn, Gwanda. As I waited for the coal train departure the shunt job didn't stick around as it headed back to Dabuka with 11 empty wagons. Video of 1915 heading back will be uploaded soon. ---------------------------------------------------- LOCOMOTIVE GENERAL PARTICULARS - DE9A (GE U11B) Max Starting Tractive Effort 245.25 kN Actual Tractive Effort, Continuous at 15 km/h 115.76 kN Design Tractive Effort, Continuous at 15 km/h 132.5 kN Max Running Speed 103 km/h Total Mass of Locomotive 56 tonne Max Axle Load 14 tonne Rigid Wheel Base 2,082 Fuel Capacity 2,270 litres Bogies: Cast/Fabricated Wheels 965 mm dia Axleboxes Timken AP Roller Bearings Gear Ratio 92:19 Loco Numbers: 1900 ~ 1919 ---------------------------------------------------- Copyright © 2019 Zimbabwe Railways.
