Rhomberg Bahntechnik and Swietelsky, who are responsible for the track construction and railway infrastructure of the new Wendlingen-Ulm line in the Schwäbische Alb joint venture (ABSA), celebrated the start of construction of the first metres of slab track on the open line at the beginning of August 2019. Today, just under 3 years later, the major project is nearing completion - as early as December 2022, the first ICE trains with passengers will roll over the line at speeds of up to 250 km/h.
