When the deception was revealed, the woman refused to marry, after which the accused pressured and threatened her. In connection with this incident, a case has been registered at Mandawali Police Station under sections 64(1), 75, 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNS) and sections 3/5(1) of the Religious Conversion Prohibition Act.
