#filey #fishing #historicalrecord Filey Voices, an Oral History project from the early to mid 2000s, Yorkshire, Subject:Jeremy Smith 1a This film is from an incomplete and unfinished works in progress on DVD with few details of who filmed, interviewed and worked on the collation of this material. The project occurred sometime between 2004 and possibly 2007, had grant funding and involvement of local historians. It may have had the title of Filey Voices, and was presumably an attempt to capture the lives of FIley people and their ways of life. None of the statements in the videos is the opinion of the Prawn Site. In fact there is so much material, and apparently potentially much more missing as these are Work in Progress discs, that it is not possible for the Prawn Site owner to view this material as time is simply not available. Except where material may be of fishing interest, it is largely out of the scope of this Youtube channel, except for preservation and education. It is offered in the interests of longevity and archive, as it was gathered, and for family members who may not have a copy, access to it and so forth. A full copy of the finished DVDs was available at Filey library, but appears to have been removed. It is not therefore possible to do anything but present complete the material that survives on these discs. Some of the discs were damaged while being written and do not work, a common problem with DVD discs, writers and software. Other discs have been damaged by the paper and plastic covers they were in, which appear to have reacted with the disk, causing blooms and patterns similar to fungus on camera equipment.
