Could Boulder City’s anti-camping ordinance serve as an example for Las Vegas?

Boulder City is drawing attention for its anti-camping ordinance, which allows the dismantling of homeless encampments on city property. Business owners like Jerrell Carrol, who runs Boulder City Collectibles & Antiques on the main Boulder Parkway, have noticed a significant decrease in the visibility of homeless individuals. "I mean, I do not see much. I see a couple of them walking up and down the street and that is about it," Carrol said. The border town has a strikingly low number of homeless individuals—officially reported as 12 adults in a city of nearly 15,000. This as Boulder City has no temporary homeless shelters. Louis Lacey, Director of Homeless Response Teams for HELP of Southern Nevada, acknowledged the lack of housing.
