What a fine piece of Pop Rock! Bad Company's "Rock and Roll Fantasy!" The track was released as the first single from the group's fifth studio album Desolation Angels. It was not the band's highest charting single in America, but it is their best selling, having been certified Gold by the RIAA. The song would peak at Number 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1979, ultimately climbing to number 54 for the Billboard Year-End singles chart in that year. This song is all about that opening riff and Paul Rodgers' incredible vocal. These videos serve as lessons on how I play this bunch of Pop, Rock, and Reggae songs - sometimes as a single guitarist playing the only guitar part, though that's rare. And sometimes if there is more than one guitar part, then trying to find the single good path through the tune. I complete one pass, demonstrating different Rhythm parts, styles, and techniques. There is no talking. No discussion. No note-for-note explanations. As such, for clarity, my guitar is supposed to be louder in the mix than it would ever be in a live setting. But, if you really want to hear what I hear, do what I do and put on a good pair headphones with great bass response! It's worth it. Why this is important to Rhythm Guitar: It's the groove, after the 70s Rock God multi-bar hammer ons! That part was made to be played standing at the front of a stage beside the Vocalist. It's harder to do than you'd think. Also, the chorus chords have to be played right on the money or it'll sound like crap. But that's true about almost everything with Rhythm Guitar. #echohead #rhythmguitar #powerpop #rockandrollfantasyguitar
