Ingredients to make Braided Chicken Bread For the bread dough: 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tsp instant yeast 3 tbsp sugar 1 tsp salt 3 tbsp vegetable oil warm water and milk For the chicken filling: 2 cups cooked shredded chicken 1 chopped onion 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/4 cup Flour 1/4 cup Milk 1/4 cup chicken stock For the egg wash: 1 egg 1 tbsp water Method to make Chicken Braided Bread 1. Begin by making the bread dough. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well. 2. Add the vegetable oil and warm water and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. 4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1/2 hour, or until it has doubled in size. 5. While the dough is rising, make the chicken filling. In a large skillet, sauté the onion, with salt and pepper. 6. Add flour and roast it for 2 minutes. Add milk and chicken stock and make it thick. 7. Add the shredded chicken, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook for a few minutes until the chicken is heated through 8. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into pieces. 9. On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece of dough into a long, thin strip. 10. Spread the chicken filling evenly over each strip of dough, leaving a small border around the edges. 11. Carefully lift one end of the dough and fold it over the filling, then lift the other end and fold it over the first. 12. Continue to braid the dough until you reach the end. Tuck the ends under the braid. 13. Place the braided bread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the egg wash over the braided bread. Sprinkle sesame seeds and nigella seeds. 14.
