You can adjust the ink tip to extend closer or farther from the pen’s tip. This allows you to fine-tune your pen to fit your personal writing style. Extend the tip longer for a more slanted writing style. Retract the tip tighter for a more vertical writing style. Our pen’s unique feature that allows you to adjust the tip length also enables the pen to accommodate nearly any standard ink refill. It can hold ink refills from 89mm to 116mm in length, which includes the overwhelming majority of full-size refills on the market. This includes popular ink refills like Fisher Space Pen, Pilot G-2, and many more. Our Modern Fuel Bolt Action Pen pen comes standard with a Pilot G-2 refill already fitted. Many bolt action pens are designed to look large and bulky, but our Bolt Action Pen is ⅜” (9.5mm) in diameter, considerably thinner than most bolt action pens on the market today. Our slimmer, sleeker, minimalist take on the concept is more comfortable to hold and easier to carry. At Modern Fuel, we create exceptionally well-made writing tools that can last for 100 years. We took that same approach with our new Bolt Action Pen. One of the most common reasons Bolt Action Pens have trouble over time is because they are often glued (or makers use another adhesive) to attach the pin to the actual bolt. That adhesive eventually breaks down, or if the pen is taken apart, it requires that the pen be broken in the process. Once this happens, typical bolt action pens can never be the same. So, we created incredibly fine threading on our pin and a custom wrench to give you enough torque to properly tighten the pin so it cannot come off during normal use. This custom wrench comes with the pen to allow you to unscrew the pin and completely disassemble the pen without harming it. When you put the pen back together, there is no loss of quality or value. The body of our Bolt Action Pen is a solid piece of metal. Everything in the pen—except the spring and refill —is solid metal milled on a lathe. It is a truly exceptional, well-built item meant to stand the test of time. For those that have never used a bolt action pen, it is unbelievably satisfying - even addicting - to lock into place. Additionally, the bolt action mechanics have a simple elegance to them. There is no mass-produced, convoluted mechanism that makes the pen work.
