Jade was only 5 years old at the time of her cancer diagnosis. Separated from her sister, friends and their family’s support network, Jade travelled with her parents to the USA to receive proton therapy treatment. With many other cancer treatments leaving young patients with horrific side effects, like vision loss and intellectual disabilities, Jade’s family were determined that she had the best treatment option possible. For Jade, proton therapy was life changing.
