The main town - Orta San Giulio is a picturesque small town, characterized by charming alleyways and little squares filled with cafes and shops. A short 5 min boat ride will take you to the nearby island of Isola San Giulio which is dominated by the Romanesque basilica, the adjacent bishop's palace and the Benedictine abbey.
