The full video of me hatching the chick in my sink. Posting to prove that this chick was alive!! Also to show how crazy of an experience this was. I never ever post videos of me talking because I have that insecurity everyone does about their voice on video. Anyways, decided to post it! You can hear me talking to myself about how wild it was to hatch the chick. You can hear me going from thinking it was dead to hearing it chirp for the first time. You can also hear my toddler in the back whining for me. I forget that I was also 9 months pregnant during this time so there really was just a lot going on! I have never done this before and did not know what to do. I made a split decision to open the egg when I thought the chick was dead. I did not expect it to be alive, and was not prepared to hatch a live baby chick. I know what to do now if it happened again. I am glad the mama hen took it back to warm it up after this and that this baby somehow survived all of this. It is now an 8 week old roo!! His name is kitch! If you want the full backstory, I got an article written about this on newsweek! I posted it recently on my Facebook page. Also the caption of the first reel, “I accidentally hatched a baby chick in the kitchen sink” has the full story if you have more questions about this situation!
