At our 10th Anniversary Showcase, I asked Chad Manning to join me with Jason Loeks, the bass player in my band Minus Mary (https://www.minusmary.com/), to play a couple of my original songs. In this video, we play “The Last Lamplighter,” a song inspired during a trip to Wroclaw, Poland two years ago where we witnessed the lighting of 103 gas lamps on Cathedral Island, one of two remaining sites in Europe that still employ someone to light gas lamp wicks every evening. Incidentally, when I told Stash Wyslouch, who teaches our Bluegrass Guitar Fingerboard Mastery course, about going to Wroclaw, he said he spent many summers there because his grandparents live there. Small world! The Peghead Nation 10th Anniversary Party and Showcase happened in November, at Studio Fourth Street (https://www.studiofourthstreet.com/), a beautiful new performance and gathering space in Peghead Nation’s hometown of San Rafael, California. In addition to a fun hang and lots of catching up with students, teachers, family, and friends, the evening featured short performances from the Peghead co-founders and an impressive contingent of instructors. It was a special night of unique collaborations and wonderful performances from many who have made our first decade possible. Take a look at the Featured Videos (https://www.pegheadnation.com/feature...) section of Peghead Nation for more great performances from the 10th Anniversary Showcase.
