If you were playing trombone in junior high or high school in the 70s, you likely dreamed about going to Eastman and touring with a big band like Jim Pugh. While some of us were barely good enough to try to write down his solos :) . This is a recording from 1974 by Woody Herman, on the album Thundering Herd. The song is "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life", arranged by Alan Broadbent, composed by Michel Legrand. Jim was the first to play it, and then this solo was handed down to those that came after him, who played equally as well, once the bar had been set! Thanks to everyone for tuning in, always appreciated greatly!
