This game has held a deep meaning to me for over 8 years and I feel absolutely honored to finally have the privilege of holding the world record as well as being the first to break the 17-minute barrier. A special thank you to WhiteHat94 who pioneered the first ever staff-less speedrun. In addition, despite never having met them, another heart-felt thank you to soulJY for discovering interesting new strategies (especially in Stage 5) to bring this time down to the 17:0x mark for the first time ever. Also, equally importantly is the HUGE thank you to Funkdoc for being the first person to achieve a deathless run and pave the way for every other Holy Diver runner from that point onward. Huge contributions that are engraved in history forever. Thank you to everyone else, the list is just too long, who constantly assured me that I was capable of a 16:5x time amidst my depression and bouts of negativity. I know that during my lows, my attitude deflected many people, but specifically Jon N., Dendy, Shark, Moonkues, WhiteHat, Zedek, Aquas, Kenny, Zoda, Mike, and Cap'n would constantly hang in my stream through thick and thin. Another important thank you is to Matt, your support offline between attempts during the lows helped give me the strength to keep pushing. Zack, too, of course.
