Hi, In this video I'll be tackling an extremely interesting problem from the 2019 STEP 3 paper. It involves computing the probability of choosing certain subsets of a larger set. STEP (Sixth Term Examination Paper) is an entrance exam organised by the University of Cambridge. It takes place in summer every year and students who have an offer to study undergraduate mathematics at the University of Cambridge are obliged to take the exam and must get a 1 or S in both STEP 2 and 3 to get their place to study at Cambridge. Lots of other universities in the UK now use STEP as a requirement, and some say that students may have a reduced offer if they take STEP.
