Tila Pilon Chocolate Hills! (DRT, Bulacan) Batanes and Bohol vibe in one. Who would have thought that Bulacan has its own share of beautiful mountain scenery like this. The trail is good for beginners as the assault is not that extreme. It is now getting attention of hikers and can be considered as a haven place for bikers with a great panoramic view of DRT. The location is far, thus, I suggest to bring your own car for convenience if you're coming from Manila. Overall, I can assure you that all your efforts will be worth it. 😊 A must visit if you want to retreat and meditate because signal is minimal. An escape spot that you won't regret getting stuck with. How to: 🚇 If you're coming from Cubao, ride a bus bound to Cabanatuan and ask the driver to drop you in Camias-Sibul Hway. You may opt to tell the conductor that you're going to DRT (Dona Remedios Trinidad). Next, you may rent a tricycle and inform the driver to take you in Kalawakan Elementary School located in Brgy. Kalawakan instead of saying Tila Pilon as the mountain is not yet well known. From drop-off, go to Barangay Hall which is beside the school. Let the Brgy. official/personnel know that you will hike the mountain - a tour guide will be provided. Don't forget to log your name. As for guide fee, there's no fixed rate yet so it depends on you on how much are you willing to pay. No entrance fee as well. Note: I suggest to ask the tricycle driver to wait for you as there's no definite public transportation that passes through the area aside from private vehicles. Use your negotiation and tawad skills. Much better if you go there with some friends so you can share the burden of transpo expense. 🚇 By car, search for Brgy. Kalawakan Elementary School, DRT, Bulacan. Signal is slow to moderate once you reach Brgy. Kalawakan so FYI.
